Sustainable Places 2017 (SP2017) is an official EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Energy Day,and brings together researchers and developers from industry and science to debate on the latest socio- technical innovations on the application of energy-efficient buildings (EeB) and smart grids.

SP2017 Call for Proposals enables a partnership with MPDI AG (Multidisciplinary Publishing Digital Institute) to publish all accepted types of contribution abstracts (e.g. posters, workshop reports, etc.) in the Proceedings Journal (ISSN 2504-3900) open access publication by MPDI, and a Buildings Journal special issue (ISSN 2075-5309).

Topics of Interest

Sustainable Places is centered around the topics of sustainable buildings, districts, and communities. The conference scope has evolved from an early focus on ICT for building-level energy management at the maiden SP event in 2013 (ICT4SP). Since then, and currently – SP fosters lasting market impacts occurring at the convergence of Energy-Efficient Buildings (EeB) innovations, and next generation ICT-enabled cyber-secure smart cities/grids management tools. Sustainable Places has become a reference European event and proven platform where theory meets practice, unlocking new linkages between data formulation and the underpinning theories, cases, observations, and validated hypotheses arising from the analysis of that data. Specifically, SP2017 presentations are clustered by the following core topics:
