Renovation Passport Proposal for the EPBD Recast

Wednesday 25 September 2024 | 09:00 - 10:30 | Workshop | ONLINE

The Horizon 2020 iBRoad2EPC renovation passport proposal in the context of the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)

The Horizon 2020 project iBRoad2EPC –Integrating the Building Renovation Passport with the Energy Performance Certificate to boost deep renovation– successfully concludes its work in 2024. It proposes an individual building renovation passport including new indicators such as Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ), Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI), measured energy performance and others, integrated with the established national Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) schemes.

An integral part of the long-term renovation plan provided by iBRoad2EPC are future legal regulations and obligations resulting from European or national legislation, e.g., ban on fossil fuel boilers, national implementation of minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) as foreseen in the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), etc. iBRoad2EPC also establishes links with official tools like national EPC calculation software or EPC databases, as well as with the iBRoad Digital Building Logbook, One-Stop Shops and others. iBRoad2EPC is therefore aligned with the ambitious EU climate and energy policy targets and promotes deep energy renovation of the European building stock, while supporting multiple additional benefits to the building owners /tenants, such as thermal comfort, access to finance, alleviating energy poverty, etc.
