Smart Readiness Indicator: Tools to support the uptake of the SRI

This workshop focused on tools supporting the uptake of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) and the identification of effective actions to improve a building’s SRI score. SRI2MARKET presented the SRI2MARKET platform which refers to a tool for SRI assessments and e-learning courses. The SRI tool provides a user-friendly interface for users to save their SRI assessments. It also creates dynamic scorecards according to pre-defined filters and automatically compares SRI assessments of buildings situated in different countries. SRI2MARKET offers e-learning lessons on the SRI and its assessment methodology aiming to bridge the existing skills gap.

easySRI presented the easySRI platform that offers a complete, end-to-end pathway for SRI assessments. An interactive SRI Wizard tool that guides users through building details to compute scores accurately, SRI Express for rapid, streamlined evaluations, and the SRI Assistant (chatbot) for on-the-spot help and SRI-related tips. The platform supports multiple languages across all EU Member States, ensuring consistent use and compliance. A built-in recommendation system translates results into actionable upgrade paths, while comprehensive training materials, a certification test, and a practical user manual equip assessors and stakeholders to adopt SRI confidently at scale.

SmartSquare presented the SRI Observatory, the site to stay up-to-date on the latest SRI policy developments at the EU level, track and compare national implementation statuses, and learn about the most relevant research advancements in building smartness. Also, Smart Ready Go!, a web-based and open-access tool to conduct SRI assessment available in multiple languages. Lastly, the Smart Readiness Virtual Training Centre, which includes accredited, modular, interactive, and practice-based training on the smart readiness technical framework and the standardised audit procedures for smart readiness assessments, as published in the CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement 18193.

EVELIXIA showcased the SRI Advisor tool, presenting the methodology used to generate tailored recommendations for smart upgrades. A live demo of the tool was conducted on the platform, offering participants an interactive, hands-on experience. This demonstration highlighted the tool’s functionalities, usability, and added value in supporting decision-making for smart building improvements. Following the live demo, a set of questions was circulated among participants to gather feedback and reactions. The goal was to assess user experience, understand expectations, and collect ideas for further enhancing the tool’s functionality and relevance for different user groups.

iEPB presented the StandAlone SRI calculation tool, a calculation engine that can be integrated into existing applications, enabling flexible adoption and interoperability. Built on the iEPB Common Data Model, it ensured consistency across platforms. In combination with the complementary iEPB web application, users could collect the necessary SRI data and visualise results alongside other building energy performance assessments. Together, these solutions fostered the practical uptake of the SRI methodology and supported its integration into diverse contexts.

SmarterEPC presented the tools developed by the project to support the uptake of the SRI in synergy with Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). These tools included a single, standardised EPC and SRI onsite audit procedure; a digital interface allowing smart data collection for all input data required for the calculation of EPC and SRI, connected with existing EPC and SRI tools; a template for a single, EPBD-compliant EPC and SRI certificate; and a support centre to facilitate the uptake of the project results by policymakers.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of a roadmap for the roll-out of the SRI in the EU.
