"BIPV - Building Integrated Photovoltaics" Thematic Session

Day 1 | Tuesday 27th October | 14.00 - 17.00

BIPV – Building Integrated Photovoltaics – are photovoltaic materials that are used to replace conventional building materials in parts of the building envelope such as the roof, skylights, or facades. They need to satisfy multiple building functions such as mechanical rigidity and structural integrity; primary weather impact protection including rain, snow, wind, etc.; energy economy, such as shading, daylighting, thermal insulation; fire protection, noise protection, in addition to architectural and aesthetic considerations. This SP2020 session featured presentations and roundtables involving several H2020 projects which are contributing to develop disruptive BIPV applications, to trigger the penetration of BIPV in the building sector, and to contribute to the creation of new opportunities and the diversification of the European PV manufacturing industry.

Participating projects : Tech4Win ImpressiveEnergy Matching –  SOLAR WIN – PVSITESBIPVBOOST – Be-Smart – PVadapt
