Validation process is a strategic step to guide the implementation and evaluation of a new methodology. The usefulness of a methodology could be assessed referring both to its effectiveness and efficiency by means respectively of a qualitative evaluation of the methodology structure and of a quantitative analysis of its performance.
- Theoretical validation phase through an ad hoc meeting, all the relevant stakeholders will analyze methodology structure, technical content, ways for integrating the different tools and methods, reference values, cost effectiveness assessment and social components.
- Empirical validation phase in order to analyze the performance of the methodology with respect to its application in the pilots (i.e. four real building projects) foreseen within the HOLISTEEC project framework. If the target value is achieved, the method is fit for purpose; if it is not, more development is required.
